Check the boat battery every week, measure the voltage, keep the battery clean.
The joint is coated with Vaseline oil to prevent corrosion; the battery room is kept clean and tidy, and the warning sign “No Fireworks” is posted.
Before charging, check that there is no hot work near the battery room. Keep the upper air blower open to keep the battery room well ventilated.
The boat battery should be discharged and charged frequently. If there are two groups of batteries, the number should be exchanged, and the battery should be charged and discharged to prevent the other group from being damaged for a long time without being charged. However, it should not be over-discharged or over-charged to avoid damage to the battery.
Record the voltage of the battery, the start and end time of the charge before charging.
The boat battery is recharged immediately after the operation is discharged. If the battery is left for a long time after discharge, the capacity may not recover from the original capacity when recharging.
When the battery is in operation, the charging device should be checked frequently, and the battery should not be overcharged or undercharged for a long time. Both states reduce battery life and capacity.
When sailing in a cold sea area or when the temperature is below zero degrees Celsius, the boat battery should be charged with a small current every day to maintain the normal temperature of the battery to avoid freezing.
When replacing boat battery, the model, capacity and replacement date should be recorded in the “Battery Charging and Maintenance Record Book”. The certificate is included in the “Battery Charging and Maintenance Record Book” and the supplier is required to recycle the used battery.
The charging device with automatic charging and manual charging function should be placed in the automatic charging state. It should be placed in the manual charging state when it needs high-current charging.
Only the automatic charging device, boat battery is always in the state of charge, should pay attention to current and voltage.
Fire extinguishers should be stored in the battery compartment. Protective aprons, glasses, rubber gloves, measuring tools, pycnometers, eye drops. Do not store other items not related to maintenance.
