Lithium-ion batteries - electric trolling moto battery rapplication benefits of batteries
Lithium-ion batteries have considerable advantages over traditional wet lead-acid, adsorbed glass pad (AGM) and sealed gel ocean deep cycle batteries.
The most important of these benefits is more lasting power.
A typical setup for a 36-volt drive motor is to connect three 12-volt Marine batteries in series to reach a voltage of 36 volts.
A conventional Marine battery loses voltage when it runs out, causing the towed motor to gradually lose thrust. Once the battery is down to 50%,
they can no longer generate the voltage needed to drive the motor. They're still 50 percent capable, but as far as your trawl motor is concerned, they're dead.
And when a conventional ocean battery is depleted to 50 percent or less, it will never return to its full capacity, no matter how long it has been charged.
Lithium-ion batteries, on the other hand, do not lose voltage when they fall. Also, they can be depleted to close to 100% before the voltage drops. That's why they provide twice as much power and keep your trawl motor running at full speed the entire time.
In addition, lithium-ion batteries weigh about half as much as conventional deep-cycle ocean batteries and take a short time to charge.
What's more, the lithium-ion battery does not suffer any damage after discharging and can be fully charged. Also, a lithium battery can discharge and charge five times or more than a conventional ocean deep-cycle battery.
